A growing community with real pressures

Woodforest and the neighborhoods along FM 1488 and FM 2978 have grown quickly, drawing young families, professionals commuting toward The Woodlands and Houston, and parents juggling school activities across districts. Growth brings opportunity and also strain: long drives, packed calendars and the sense that everyone else is managing just fine.

This page complements the practice's Magnolia page by focusing on the newer master-planned communities between Magnolia and The Woodlands. Wherever you live along the corridor, care from Sarah Allison, PMHNP-BC, starts with a thorough, root-cause evaluation.

Support for teens and parents

Parents in the corridor often reach out about a teen whose anxiety, mood or focus has changed, sometimes despite strong grades. The practice sees teens 15 and older, including homeschoolers and students in co-ops and private schools. Caregiver participation and confidentiality are explained before treatment begins.

Parents themselves frequently describe burnout, short tempers and sleep debt. Postpartum and perimenopause transitions are common in this life stage and deserve attention rather than dismissal.

Making appointments work with a busy schedule

Telehealth can make it possible to fit a 25-minute follow-up between meetings or school pickups, as long as you are physically in Texas and in a private space. Initial evaluations and some follow-ups may be better in person, especially when physical health questions or labs are part of the picture.

Bring medication and supplement lists, school or work concerns, and any relevant lab results to the first visit. You do not need to know the diagnosis in advance.
